Festive Dinner Ushered in ‘Tubes & Pipes’ Performance at Bethesda-By-The-Sea
PALM BEACH, FL (January 12, 2014) – Honoring their 40th Anniversary, Palm Beach Symphony members and guests enjoyed a celebratory pre-concert dinner at Bethesda-By-The-Sea prior to packing in the pews at the historic church to hear a performance full of fanfare which included a world premiere piece especially commissioned for the occasion.
The Palm Beach Symphony Brass and Percussion Sections, along with Harold Pysher on Organ, valiantly performed the ‘Tubes & Pipes’ selections of old and new works from the 1500’s to today, including present-day composer Nico Muhly’s appointed composition which reflected his fast-pace and bold style.
“We are thrilled to offer our members the Palm Beach social experience coupled with a world-class professional performance in such amazing venues,” noted David McClymont, Palm Beach Symphony executive director. “On behalf of the Palm Beach Symphony Board of Directors, who sponsored the incredible pre-concert dinner, I invite others to discover what Palm Beach Symphony membership has in store for the next forty years. It is our heartfelt mission to engage, educate and entertain the greater community of the Palm Beaches through live performances of inspiring orchestral music. Membership is the icing on the cake.”
The Palm Beach Symphony offers not only an exciting series of orchestral concerts, but also an array of additional musical and social events for a growing membership. By-invitation-only musical evenings are presented in unique Palm Beach locations and are reserved for Symphony members. Other benefits include invitations to the season kick-off cocktail party at Club Colette, the Dinner Cruise, an evening of sailing on a luxury yacht on the Intracoastal Waterway, and the pre- and post-concert suppers.
The next concert, “Palm Beach Symphony at Mar-A-Lago,” will be held on March 18th at 7:30 p.m. with a member après dinner at Café L’Europe. General admission tickets, for the concert only, are now on sale for $75. Memberships are sold year round.
