Palm Beach Symphony Presents “Fantastique Evening”

Exclusive concert at Mar-a-Lago will deliver an evening of music and fantasy

Palm Beach, Fla. (March 2, 2016) — Palm Beach Symphony will perform an exclusive concert at the prestigious Mar-a-Lago Club on March 16, 2016 for members and season subscribers. “Fantastique Evening” will evoke fantasy, magic and mayhem in concert-goers with a trio of European composers and programmatic music specifically selected and arranged for this grandiose venue.

Artistic & Music Director, Ramón Tebar, will conduct a fantastical evening with an emotional and poetic program that includes musical narratives by Turina, Strauss and Berlioz. Tebar will lead a full orchestra in Turina’s fun and lively Spanish dances, Danzas Fantasticas, Op. 22, inspired by a friend’s novel. Next will follow the romantic suite, Der Rosenkavalier Suite, Op. 59, based on Strauss’ opera about a knight’s love.

Finally, Berlioz’s epic Symphonie Fantastique, Op. 14 will whisk the audience away on a dramatic tale of failed romance. This popular symphony by the French composer is an exemplary narrative piece of music that tells the story of an artist gifted with a lively imagination who has poisoned himself with opium in the depths of despair because of hopeless love.

“These pieces all tell stories of love, joy and despair, and will take you into another world,” said Ramón Tebar, acclaimed conductor for the Palm Beach Symphony. “This music is filled with the dreams of these mysterious composers and is wonderfully emotive for both the orchestra and the audience.”

This exclusive concert is by invitation only; for more information call 561-602-6720.
