Divertimentos and Dressage

The Symphony performed at the Brooke USA Foundation’s “An Evening of Divertimentos and Dressage” for their fundraiser on Thursday, March 23, 2023 to benefit the health, welfare, and productivity of working horses, donkeys, mules, and the people who depend upon them for survival worldwide. This event was held at the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center in Loxahatchee. Symphony musicians were led by Assistant Conductor Kyle Elgarten.

"Delegation Digest" Feature

The Symphony was featured on the front page of “Delegation Digest” on March 13, 2023 for our participation in Palm Beach County Legislative Days on March 8 at the state capitol building in Tallahassee. We worked in tandem with the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County and the Palm Beach County Public Affairs Department to advocate for state grant funding for all arts and cultural activities in Palm Beach County of which the Symphony is a major beneficiary. In attendance was the Symphony’s CEO David McClymont and Director of Artistic Operations Olga Vazquez. Additionally, a quartet of our Symphony musicians were in attendance including Flutist Joseph Monticello, Principal Second Violinist Valentin Mansurov, Principal Violist Chauncey Patterson, and Cellist Aziz Sapaev. The quartet performed in two separate locations including the rotunda in the capitol building’s entryway as pictured on the front page of “Delegation Digest.”

"Play it Forward" Instrument Donation Campaign

Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. has generously been running the Symphony's “Play It Forward” Instrument Donation Campaign since December 2022, and this past week the final installment was televised. The Symphony has received an impressive 80 donated instruments from community members across Palm Beach County. This 2022-2023 season, we have donated a record 142 instruments and 375 accessories and equipment to schools and individual students in our county thus far.

For more information on donating an instrument or nominating a school or student to receive an instrument, visit our Instrument Donation webpage.
