Palm Beach Symphony is sharing the gift of music with numerous students this month through its music education programs. Traditionally at this time, the Symphony would invite music students to the Holly Jolly Symphony Fête to award them their very own musical instrument from the Instrument Donation program.
Though the festive holiday luncheon was canceled, the spirit of giving the fête is known for continued this December, thanks to many of the donors who usually attend. Palm Beach Symphony's music education team has traveled from school to school to deliver instruments to students in need before the holiday break begins. Nearly 15 instruments have been donated in 2020/21, with instruments presented this month to students at Lake Worth Community High School and Wellington Elementary School. Additionally, auditions for the Lisa Bruna B-Major Award, which awards one to three high school seniors in Palm Beach County who plan to pursue a degree program in music with an advanced level instrument, were held this week.
We are thrilled to be having so much activity for our instrument donation programs despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The Symphony is taking necessary precautions to ensure that each instrument is sanitized and delivered safely.
